Intra-Africa Cluster Meeting “Project and

Mobility Management” Brussels, 7-8

February 2018

Dear Intra-Africa Project Coordinator and Partner,
As previously announced, I am pleased to invite you to the Intra-Africa Cluster Meeting titled “Project and Mobility Management” organised the following two selection rounds under the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme.

The event, which will take place at Management Centre Europe in Brussels on 7-8 February 2018, aims at knowledge sharing, exchange of experiences and good practices to support and improve projects implementation. The meeting is expected to serve as a forum to:

  •  identify success stories and good practices, ongoing challenges/shortcomings related to the management of an Intra-Africa partnership and mobility projects in Africa
  •  gather ideas on specific needs of universities, students and other stakeholders
  •  discuss how networking and mutual support could help coordinators improve the management of their respective projects.

To reach these objectives, plenary sessions, workshops and structured networking activities will be organised. Further details on the session and their topics are available in the draft agenda attached to this invitation.

The event will bring together the two generations of Intra-Africa Partnerships and representatives from the Intra-ACP Partnerships. Each 2016 Intra-Africa Partnership will be represented with two universities, i.e. the project coordinator and one partner university representative. At the end of the event, in the afternoon on 8 February 2018, your project contact person will be available for bilateral discussions on the specific issues related to the management of your project.

Registration of the attendees will start at 8:30 on 7 February (Address: Rue de l’Aqueduc, 118, 1050, Brussels). Prior registration to the event is mandatory. Kindly fill in the registration form attached to this letter for each of the project representative. For the participants who need to apply for a Schengen visa, the Agency will issue a visa support letter. In order not to delay the visa application process, the registration form should be sent to us at the latest before 15 December 2017.

Lunches and tea/coffee breaks during the event as well as a dinner on the first day will be offered by the European Commission. Other costs, i.e. travel, accommodation and daily expenditures, are to be covered from the lump sum under the budget line “Organisation of mobility” of your project budget. It is therefore your responsibility to make necessary arrangements as soon as possible.

The overall objective of the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility programme is to promote sustainable development and ultimately contribute to poverty reduction by increasing the availability of trained and qualified high-level professional manpower in Africa.
