This program is related to the thematic area Governance and Social Sciences since the Master of Arts in Management of Public Action has a main objective and specific objectives ; to enable the graduates to design and implement actions towards the animation and the development of associations/structures/organizations and networks of social and solidarity economy consistently with the political, economic, cultural and worship environment at national, sub-regional and international levels; specifically, to provide highly trained human resources with skills in analysing stakes associated with the social and solidarity entrepreneurship and governance in the contemporary society, analysing the complexity of the interfaces becoming more and more numerous between government organizations and the civil society for the development; to conduct researches with new research procedures of action helping humanitarian and public action for a sustainable and equitable development; to identify and resolve dysfunctions in the field of social entrepreneurship and organizations. Eventually, students on the program can tackle challenges relating to social and solidarity development

The Masters of Arts in the management of public action is undertaken in two years (four semesters) by coursework, examination and thesis defence. The course is delivered by lectures (from full and associate professors from UAC and African and European universities), assignments, seminars, tutorial presentations and using computers and LCD projectors. The program is assessed and monitored using various tools including students class attendance lists, supervision, continuous assessment tests, individual and collective assignments, field work, end of semester examinations, training course for the students. A combined use of these tools also ensures quality delivery of the programme backed up by theoretical and practical knowledge. Students at the end of the courses must score 12/20 to pass which is the University course grading standard applied to all postgraduate courses. The programme subsumes twenty-seven (27) courses necessary for the shaping and the strengthening of specialists to operate changes in Benin and Africa in the context of management of public governance as well as social and solidarity economy for a sustainable economic development of Africa Continent. This training program aims at producing highly trained specialists in the field of management of public action able to intervene in civil service, private and collective initiatives whether these are profit or non-profit making enterprises with sociological tools and perspectives to tackle a wide range of contemporary social issues facing African society and mostly Benin including mismanagement of public policies, youths unemployment, grassroots and community development. They can impact by giving insightful advice about any government or international policies targeting the reduction and kicking out of poverty in poor population as well in urban and rural areas to ease chronic needs in the field of drinking water provision, children mostly girls education, mutual health organization development, solidarity savings accounts promotion. They can offer technical supports to business launching, creation of solidarity and association projects, NGOs, the implementation and monitoring of development projects, environment and humanity programs. They will be bearers and actors of initiatives and projects of development at local, continental and international scales. They (national students as well as beneficiaries of the Academic Mobility project) are then sensors, implementing actors, advisors, monitors of projects development whatever the spheres and the scale, targeting the human welfare.
